VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Many people ask me, “How can I manage my fear of public speaking?”

And even more often than that, they’ll often say “I’d like to speak more, but I get so nervous and I don’t know what to do to manage that.”

My name is Suzannah Baum. By now you probably know that to really start to manage your fear of public speaking, you need to prepare thoroughly, you need to practice and rehearse over and over again, you need to show up early to make sure that you can set everything up on time, and you need to breathe.

But there is also one other thing that is really important, really crucial, in terms of managing a fear of public speaking. And that is STRUCTURE. Because when you can approach a presentation with a strong structure, where your points are very clear, you are very clear on the objective of the presentation, you know what your audience wants to hear and what struggles they’re facing, and you can fill that presentation with clear points, stories, examples, and things that truly resonate with your audience and engage them, and then start it and finish it with an opening and a close that is really impactful, you can approach your presentation not with fear or nerves, but you could start approaching your presentation with EXCITEMENT over the value that you are providing to this audience, rather than the fear of how you HOPE it’s going to go.

When you put this structure in your speech, you come from a place where you can really impact them, where you are really sharing your expertise, and that becomes a lot more powerful than the fear.

There are many elements of structure and how to put that structure in your presentation in my Create A Signature Speech That Sells program. But how about you start with this…

  • The first thing is create a very strong introduction so that you can create and start this presentation with impact.
  • Be very clear on the key points that you want to get across to your audience.
  • Really understand what it is your audience is struggling with and what they are challenged by and speak to that.
  • Don’t forget your call to action, because that really is where you move the audience to the next stage of evolution.

Again, my name’s Suzannah Baum, it would be my pleasure to give you more information on how to create a strong, structured, engaging presentation. Feel free to check out my online program, Create A Signature Speech That Sells, or feel free to get in touch with me directly. It would be a pleasure to speak with you.
